Leticia Herrera is an awarded and published Mexican Artist residing in the USA seeking to explore what it means to be human in her art. In over 30 years of painting, she has depicted a diverse amount of representations and styles.

Her signature work is represented by her “Walkers” magic surrealism series that represent a metaphorical journey, the shared search for answers that unites humanity. The “Walkers” series is a striking visual narrative that explores the multifaceted journey of humanity through a vibrant and textured tapestry of oil impasto. The series, a collection of paintings featuring diminutive human figures set against vast, often gradient backgrounds, speaks to the profound search for identity, purpose, and connection that defines the human experience.

Herrera is an experienced artist with works in private collections world wide. She has shown her work in Mexico and received several awards in North Texas. Herrera is a member of several art organizations and represented across the country in galleries in Colorado, California, South Carolina, New Mexico, Florida, and Texas.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I believe in the kindness of humanity. I believe that our diversity is what makes this world interesting. I consider myself an expanding artist because I believe we are always transforming. My work walks with me and changes with me.

In my art, I represent the trajectory through my series, Walkers. They are searchers of beautiful emotions, they are travelers of the universe and the world. They are catchers of dreams; they are explorers of aspirations, searchers of unity and of freedom. Asking always who are we? Where are we going? What are we looking for? What do we want? Who do we love?

In my paintings I am. trying to transport you to those places of my imagination where we often find ourselves. I want to touch your soul, open your hear and invite yo to wak with me and find the light you are meant to have.
